Ok so we get customers coming into the store asking what those big round things on the wall are? Hey get your mind out of the gutter! They are talking about the vinyl records. Yes they ask and we are happy to answer. There aren’t many stores carrying 12” vinyl anymore, so we understand why the question is asked. So when this question is asked I always want to show them this video. Discovery channel did a special once on how those big round things on the wall are made. This is a Radio Futura commercial that didn’t quite make it to the big screen, but made it to our favorite store commercials. This is when we were running television commercials on cable. This is a Killer Green (H1) production that captures the essence of what the store is about. It has the elements of the hip hop, underground subculture in snippets of classic films and live footage. The concept is great and I still like to post it from time to time on different sites for people who have never seen it. You’ll also see a recent edit adding the Alhambra location to the end of the video. Enjoy!

BP & Odds and Busdriver came through yesterday for another awesome in-store. Busdriver started the night with an amazing set. There were lots of heads bobbing and hands clapping as Bus dropped the tunes. We always love Busdriver’s sets because you never know what to expect. (more…)
